Welcome to Coyote Ridge Ranch Great trail road and for the past few weeks burrowing owls were nesting there. The first half-mile or so of the trail is flat and surrounded by numerous prairie dog colonies, eventually rising up the first hogsback and down past restrooms and a small cabin after the first mile. No shade for like the first hour so that was a little rough but it was awesome. Good bit of bugs but the trail was beautiful today. From Loveland, get onto Taft Hill Rd heading North, if you pass the Fort Collins land fill you have gone to far, turn around and follow the directions above. Everything is very green right now. Lots of prairie dogs and saw some deer as well. Eases you into nice uphill, becomes rockier and more exciting of a run as it serves up a more dramatic final uphill push.
